Weatherization Technician (In-House Crew)

Location: Henderson, Tennessee

Job Type: Full-Time 

Schedule: Typically Monday- Friday 8:00 am- 4:30 pm

Starting Pay: $17.00-$18.00

About the Position
The Southwest Human Resource Agency (SWHRA) is seeking a dedicated and skilled
Weatherization Technician to join our in-house Weatherization Crew.
This position plays an important role in improving the energy efficiency, health, and safety of
homes throughout West Tennessee.

Key Responsibilities
-Perform weatherization measures such as:
-Blower door testing and air sealing
-Installing insulation in attics, walls, and crawlspaces
-Installing ventilation systems, weather stripping, and other energy-saving
materials
-Performing minor carpentry, mechanical, and home repair work
-Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently
-Follow work orders, specifications, and program guidelines
-Ensure compliance with DOE, LIHEAP, and state weatherization standards
-Load/unload materials, maintain inventory, and keep job sites clean
-Communicate effectively with homeowners and team members
-Attend required training and maintain certifications (OSHA, Lead RRP, etc.)

Required Qualifications
-High school diploma or GED
-Experience in construction, HVAC, insulation, carpentry, or related trade
-Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
-Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
-Comfortable working in confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces), on ladders, and in various
weather conditions
-Basic knowledge of hand and power tools

Preferred Qualifications
-Experience in weatherization or energy efficiency work
-BPI (Building Performance Institute) certification(s)
-OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) certification

Physical Requirements
-Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
-Capable of bending, crawling, climbing, and working in tight spaces
-Ability to work on roofs or ladders as needed
