Summer Food/At-Risk Program Assistant Position

Position Overview:

The Summer Food/At-Risk Program Assistant supports the implementation and oversight of meal service programs, ensuring all program sites operate in compliance with policies and meet program requirements. This role involves training, monitoring, reconciliation, and outreach activities to enhance program effectiveness and participation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in training site supervisors to ensure proper program operations and record-keeping.
2. Assist in weekly reconciliation of meal counts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
3. Monitor all sites as per policy, including site visits as needed to verify operations, record-keeping, and adherence to program requirements.
4. Track menu changes from the Central Kitchen and report them to sites to ensure consistent service.
5. Report any issues found at sites to the Summer Food/At-Risk Program Specialist and document corrective actions.
6. Relay program paperwork between the Central Kitchen, Food Services Solutions Office, and Central Office as needed.
7. Assist in outreach efforts to increase site participation in Summer Food / At-Risk programs.
8. Assist in updating program paperwork for the new program year.
9. Perform other duties as requested by the Summer Food/At-Risk Program Specialist.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum of a high school diploma; college education preferred. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in basic bookkeeping. Must have experience with Excel and knowledge in other relevant software programs is desirable. Must possess a valid driver's license and have a reliable vehicle for travel between rural counties if needed. Mileage reimbursement is available for approved vehicle use when agency vehicles are not available.
