SUN Driver II

Position Summary

The SUN Program is seeking dependable, safety-conscious individuals to serve as Seasonal Drivers. Drivers will be responsible for delivering meals door-to-door in rural counties, operating agency vehicles safely, and providing courteous service to program participants.

Compensation

$18.00 per Hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver meals door-to-door to homes throughout assigned rural counties.
  • Safely operate delivery vehicles and follow all traffic laws and defensive driving practices.
  • Complete assigned routes accurately and efficiently.
  • Arrive at work on time and maintain regular attendance.
  • Notify the Food Services Director of any emergencies, delays, or absences as soon as possible.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with participants, coworkers, and the public.
  • Follow all agency rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and personnel guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 25 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a valid Class D Driver's License.
  • Must have at least two (2) years of safe, unrestricted driving experience.
  • Must have a clean driving record, including no convictions or citations for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Ability to safely stoop, reach, lift, and carry bulk food and supplies weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Must demonstrate good character, reliability, competency, and fitness for employment.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check.
