Central Kitchen Assembly Position

Position Overview:

The Central Kitchen Assembly Position is responsible for packing meals according to sanitary and safety guidelines, assisting with general sanitation throughout the facility, and supporting cooks and other staff as needed. The position involves various physical tasks such as stooping, reaching, lifting, and carrying bulk food items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Basic Skills:
    Must have adequate math, reading, and writing skills, along with good judgement in handling food and equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Following Instructions:
    Ability to follow both oral and written instructions effectively.
  • Portioning and Measuring:
    Responsible for measuring and portioning food products according to production worksheets, requiring basic math skills.
  • Working Under Stress:
    Must be able to work efficiently under stress, especially in emergency situations where speed is crucial.
  • Professionalism and Punctuality:
    Maintain professionalism and arrive on time for work. In case of an emergency, report directly to the Kitchen Supervisor ahead of the scheduled start time.
  • Positive Attitude:
    Exhibit a friendly and positive attitude towards the job and others, performing duties willingly and without complaints.
  • Sanitary Food Handling:
    Handle food in strict accordance with all sanitary and safety regulations.
  • Meal Packing and Basic Food Prep:
    Pack meals as assigned and assist with basic food preparation when necessary.
  • Kitchen Stocking and Cleaning:
    Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining the cleanliness of the Central Kitchen.
  • Compliance:
    Adhere to agency rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and the personnel policy manual.
  • Additional Duties:
    Perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Food Service Experience:
    Prefer at least one (1) year of experience in the food service industry.
  • Food Safety Knowledge:
    Must be knowledgeable about and experienced in practicing proper safety standards for handling food products.
  • Desire and Reliability:
    Must have a genuine desire to work and be reliable.

Pay Rate: $11.56 per hour

Employment Status: Part-Time - 29 hours per week
