The SUN Van Driver is responsible for delivering food and supplies based on the daily menu and meal counts provided by the Central Kitchen Operations Manager. This position requires physical activity, including lifting, carrying, and handling bulk food and cases up to 100 pounds, as well as operating cargo vans in a safe and efficient manner.

The Summer Food Service Program was created to ensure that children continue receiving the nutritious meals they need even when school is not in session. From May to August, we provide free, healthy meals that meet Federal Nutrition guidelines at approved sites.
As a Summer Food Program Monitor, you will play a vital role in ensuring that program sites follow all guidelines and regulations. Your work will directly impact the success of this program, ensuring meals reach as many children as possible.

Departmental Context:
The Rural Transportation Program is designed to benefit all citizens of SWHRA's 8 county region. The transportation service is a curb-to-curb system with flexible schedules to meet the needs of all passengers.
Position Overview:
The Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting individuals within the service area to and from designated locations. This role requires adherence to traffic laws, a strong focus on passenger safety, vehicle maintenance, and maintaining a courteous demeanor. The Van Driver works under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor and collaborates with other transportation personnel to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
